THE ESSENCE OF THE NOTION OF THE COMPANY’S HR POLICY

The research considers the use of basic logical methods - analysis, comparison and synthesis – to determine the nature of the notion of company’s HR policy. The main aim of this article is to specify the notion of company’s HR policy through the identification of its essential features, i.e. signs, each of which is necessary and all of which are sufficient to distinguish the term from all others.
Existing interpretations of the HR policy essence found in modern literature have been revealed. The extensive analysis has led to the conclusion that, alongside with the available theoretical and methodological developments, there are certain limitations and drawbacks.
Due to the analysis of the interpretations of the notion of company’s HR policy, the most significant features have been identified: 1) a set of principles, rules, methods, ideas, forms, requirements, criteria of work with the personnel that are the essential certainty of HR policy; 2) trends in the work with the personnel; 3) a focus on the formation, reproduction, development, efficient use of personnel, their motivation and incentives. The formation of the notion of company’s HR policy involves, apart from the above, the sign of its compliance with the overall business strategy. Unlike the existing ones, this approach to ascertaining the nature of the notion takes into account the important features of this term according to its essential certainty and the content of actions to a greater extent.
The proposed interpretation of the company’s HR policy can be used for its development in any business in order to improve the efficiency of both the personnel itself and the operation in general.
